Més que un club

My favorite soccer team, FC Barcelona, won the Champions League title today (well, night in the EU now). In celebration of their victory over Manchester United, I created an appropriate manicure:

The blue is China Glaze Blue Sparrow while the garnet is China Glaze Crystal Ball. But let's dress this down a bit...

I wasn't feeling the matte trend at first, but I'm hooked! I absolutely adore Nubar V For Men, a matte finish nail protector. For those of you not willing to drop over 20 bucks for KO's matte polishes, this is the way to instant matte goodness! I doubt I will buy from OPI's upcoming matte line because the colors I would've most likely acquired are already part of my collection. Why drop $8.50 when I can spruce up my own polish? Have you opened up to matte yet? Why or why not?

Very cool looking! No, I have tried any of the matte top coats or polish. I guess I'll have to give this a whirl...lol!

I love your manicure! So neat and precise and the colors are perfect! I like the mattes, it's something different. I'm with you, I have the Nubar and 2 other matte top coats. I'm not buying any matte polishes, just top coating them. Although I may cave on some if I see them as unique or different!

Nice mani! I will love having some matte polish. I used to have some matte polishes a long time ago. I also have the Orly Matte Top Coat. I haven't tried it on any polishes yet. I hope it works well. If it does maybe I won't have to buy any matte polishes.

This made me LOL - I sit opposite a Man Utd supporter at work who has been utterly miserable today.

I wasn't being remotely patriotic last night as the only people wanting Man U to win were Man U fans - everyone else was well behind Barca! And Thierry Henry looked so happy!

Anyway - enough football chat. I love the nails! I am now feeling the pressure and whilst I'm not sure about a whole matte polish, I may fork out for a topcoat....

Cute nails! I'm just not sure about matte. On one hand, it's something unique and interesting...on the other hand, when in my life have I ever wanted something to be LESS shiny? It's like fighting my inner magpie.

Velvet--it's definitely a break in routine :)

Mary--The KOs look great, but $20 great?! I'd rather drop that on Illamasqua!

Lucy--I hear it works great! I love my bottle of V for Men so much that I highly doubt I'll buy anymore matte polishes.

Helen--my sister's friend is a huge Man U fan and made his high school teacher turn the match during his last class! He's still not a happy camper! I agree, Henry looked over the moon...I've always been a fan of his, so I was excited when he transferred to Barca. If you're just dipping your toes into matte, I think a topcoat is a great start.

Panderbear--I'm still in my honeymoon stage of matte curiosity. I definitely fought the trend, though...the ManGlaze polishes are awesome, ESPECIALLY with top coat! I think we can have it both ways.

Jen--Thanks a lot! Your blog is pretty awesome as well :D

The jury is still out on the "matte" trend at the moment but, I really like the two colors that you but together.

If i have a neon that accidentally comes out matte ( meaning i didn't realize it was matte) i quickly apply a clear gloss over it!!!! otherwise it seems like i took a perfect mani to the beach & applied sunscreen to them! lol!
